5 common problems with creators who aren’t growing:
1. Content is all over the place.
Have a consistent through line in your messages and work. Build an expectation with your audience. Don’t talk about food, buddha, PM, and AC Milan together. A master throughliner to model off of is Teresa Torres.
2. Content volume isn’t high enough.
Once you hit your through-line, you must write about it all the time. Hammer home messages that worked well with different twists. Say it differently. Say it better. No one remembers your content like you do. John Cutler is prolific.
3. They aren’t observing the format.
If you are still using hashtags in your LinkedIn posts, you haven’t been watching what’s working
Stop using insta .
.
.
Try out a picture of a tweet on LinkedIn. Those work great. Adam Grant is a master of adapting to format.
4. They aren’t watching what works.
Anything you do that gets more signal, double down on it. A format or topic that works should become your daily habit. For a long time for me, this was deep dive posts with a summary. A master to model off of is Justin Welsh.
5. They’re speaking into the ether.
You have to like and reply to every single reply, simple as that. You have to build a community to grow. People have millions of thought leaders to choose from. There are very few community leaders to choose from.
Welcome to the tribe.
